Details of Experience:
ramapo-march-case-studyGeriann C. came to Ramapo Manor after a weeklong stay at GSH. While she was at Good Samaritan Hospital she went into severe Respiratory Failure which led to her being in a Coma for 2 days. Her story is truly a miracle. Upon arrival we knew that Geriann was going to need intense rehabilitation. She worked closely with our Respiratory Therapist Joe Potts once she arrived at Ramapo Manor. Over the last few weeks Geriann went from 15 liters of oxygen per minute to 2 liters. To better her sleep at night she used a Bipap Machine. Since being put on bipap machine Geriann says she has been sleeping like a baby. Therapy taught her various breathing exercises which will help her breathing going forward. After 24 days Geriann was able to return home and get back to her everyday living. Prior to her departure from Ramapo Manor I spoke with her and asked “So how do you feel?” She responded by saying “You guys truly saved my life. I cannot believe I am able to go back home. I thought that I was never going to recover from everything that had happened”. Her answer put a huge smile on my face and I was so happy that we were able to help her in every way possible. We will truly miss Geriann but we are so proud on all that she accomplished while she was at Ramapo Manor.
