How did this patient hear about The Willows at Ramapo? From the Hospital
Susan was admitted to The Willows due to shortness of breath and anemia, which resulted in the decline of her ADLs (activities of daily living) and functional mobility requiring assistance from an aide around the clock. Before being hospitalized, Susan resided at an assisted living facility, living there entirely independently. Susan’s initial decline led to her lack of motivation and participation in physical therapy, which spiraled into the continuation of decline of her overall strength and quality of life.
With the help of our stellar rehab team’s constant intervention, motivation, and persistence, Susan began to regularly attend therapy, which started to increase her strength, tolerance, and overall ADLs, showing a complete 180 turnaround. This led to Susan having a complete attitude change to her surroundings, smiling more, writing in a journal, and participating in our extensive recreational programs. She also spends a lot of time in the rehab garden enjoying the fresh air and scenery.
Susan has stated that the staff at the Willows are all wonderful. The building is beautiful, and her tranquil pond view from her bedroom window is just stunning. She loves being outside and mingling with other residents. She says she’s able to get more help while she’s here and is thinking about staying long term so that her proper needs are met.
Susan, I only wish you continued to regain your strength. Your smile is infectious, and your motivation for others is admirable. We are all so impressed with all you are accomplishing here at the Willows and are eager to continue on your journey together.
